  • Keep it plugged into your laptop when setting up (no need to plug it into the car until all setup)
  • Use the same USB serial port each time and record which one you used (e.g. right side of laptop)
  • In Device Manager, scroll down to the ports section and locate USB serial port, then right click -> Properties -> Advanced and make sure it’s using the following settings:
  • COM1
  • Receive: 4096
  • Transmit: 4096
  • Latency Timer: 1
  • Read Timeout: 0
  • Write Timeout: 0
  • Ensure that only the “Serial Enumerator checkbox is ticked”

  • Unplug the USB cable and plug it in again. View the settings and make sure they haven’t changed from the above.
  • Connect the cable to the vehicle then run C:\EC-APPS\INPA\bin\INPALOAD.exe
  • Press the Start/Stop button once (don’t start the engine by holding it down)
  • The dashboard should light up with the usual icons
  • If you see two solid black dots on the INPALOAD.exe screen, then the connection is successful
  • Find the long VIN number in the engine bay and enter it into https://www.vindecoderz.com/ to find your engine number
